Our process – in a nutshell

Our expert team of financial advisors at The Millstone Evans Group makes the onboarding process as simple as possible for you. We will create a personalized financial and investment plan that is designed to save you time now and in the years ahead.

We start with an initial conversation about your current situation, questions, challenges and interests.

The second step is using a tool called Financial DNA®. It begins with a questionnaire that will take you 30 minutes or less to complete, after which we will schedule a one-hour meeting to discuss the results. Financial DNA is a bit like a DISC or Myers-Briggs test – but through a financial lens. It allows us to quickly identify important issues to discuss and accelerates our ability to create a plan and solutions that are most appropriate for you. The tool works well with single people or couples. Couples complete separate questionnaires.

Depending on your preference, the next step may be to create your financial plan or your investment plan. In either case, the Financial DNA tool informs the solutions we suggest.

When we agree that your financial plan makes sense, the process will proceed in stages and will generally be completed in four to six weeks. We will ask you to provide specific information to us, and for that reason, this is the stage that requires more of your time than any other. However, it is the only time in the process that will take a significant time commitment from you. We estimate one to two hours of your time will be sufficient. Once we receive the information we need, we can complete your plan with only occasional questions along the way.

Meetings can be held virtually via Zoom or in person. The financial planning meeting typically takes about an hour to 90 minutes. The investment plan meeting typically takes about an hour.

The timetable for review meetings is according to your preference.
