Brad Bio Headshot

Bradley Michalchuk,

CFP® Director of Financial Planning and ESG Research

As the director of financial planning and environmental, social and governance (ESG) research for The Millstone Evans Group, Brad is passionate about helping others reach their investment goals. He knows from his own experience how confusing the process can be, and it doesn’t have to be. As a scientist, he is used to breaking down complicated topics into practical, easy-to-understand information that can help clients make smart choices. He credits the meticulous aspect of science with enabling him to bring a more scientific approach to investing.

When Brad works with you as a client, he focuses on building a strong relationship based on mutual respect and close communication, understanding your goals and providing a tailored plan to meet them. This makes him a perfect fit to work with The Millstone Evans Group since we firmly believe in connecting with clients in a clear, personal way that differentiates us from the jargon-filled, impersonal nature of many financial advisor firms.

With Brad’s extensive research background, he brings recent, comprehensive and relevant information to the table to inform decision-making. This includes expertise in applying ESG research to your investment portfolio, which is something our clients tell us they value a great deal. His science background propels his understanding of – and dedication to – ESG investing. He also specializes in helping clients who work in boom/bust or cyclical industries like energy to create long-term financial stability and confidence.

Prior to The Millstone Evans Group, Brad worked in wealth management advising at Maia Wealth Management and, before that, at The Anschutz Corporation in Denver. From 2008 until recently, he worked as a geologist and project manager on projects around the world, including Africa, Australia, Europe and the United States. During this period, he still found time to earn an M.S. in global energy management from the University of Colorado Denver Business School.

A native of western Canada, Brad attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where he double majored in economics and geology. He then went on to Rice University to earn an M.S. in earth science and publish his thesis on the glacial and climate history in the Antarctic Peninsula.

Brad’s passion for financial advising grew out of his experience with his own personal financial planning for his family. He recognized the importance of this work and how he could help change lives in meaningful ways.

Brad holds the Certified Financial Planner™ certification and completed the Financial Planning program with the Boston Institute of Finance.

His education and experience provide unique value to our clients and The Millstone Evans Group as he applies his breadth of skills to collaborating with people, building comprehensive financial plans and leveraging ESG research to your investment selections.

With his home just a stone’s throw from the Boulder office, Brad values the extra time he gets to spend with his family. He is active in the community as a member of the North Boulder Little League board of directors, as well as with his children's youth hockey and various community-building activities.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization's initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
