Quick Check: Is Your Account Info Up-to-Date? Updating Your Details is Easy and Worth It.

As a financial advisor, my goal isn't just to manage your investments, but to make sure your hard-earned assets always protect the people you love. With life moving so fast, it is incredibly easy for administrative details to slip through the cracks.

Did you know that the beneficiary designations on your 401(k) and insurance policies can override your will? If your life has changed but your forms haven't, assets could accidentally end up in the wrong hands—like an ex-spouse or an estranged relative.

While you are reviewing your 401(k) beneficiaries, I highly recommend checking these other critical items as well:

  • Trusted Contact: Want to add or change your trusted contact associated with your account? Designating one provides another layer of protection to help us keep your accounts safe.
  • Life Insurance Beneficiaries:Make sure your policies match your current family dynamic.
  • Estate Planning Documents:Ensure your will, trust, and healthcare proxies still reflect your wishes.
  • Employer Benefits:Check that your health savings accounts (HSAs) and group benefits are fully optimized.

We are here to help all our clients navigate these pieces so they fit perfectly into the bigger financial picture. For clients who have had any recent life changes, want to review these items together and/or want to explore rolling over a 401 (k) to your Millstone Evans account, please let us know.
